PURIFIED IN BLOOD Mixing New Album
December 21, 2009Norwegian metallers PURIFIED IN BLOOD are currently in Seattle, Washington mixing their new album with Matt Bayles (MASTODON, ISIS, BOTCH) for an early 2010 release.
PURIFIED IN BLOOD's most recent album, "Reaper of Souls", was released in the U.S. in June 2006. The band, which was previously hailed as one of the most exciting acts to emerge from Norway since TURBONEGRO, combines blazing riffs and solos with controversially political lyrics. One might say that the group's innovative concept of "metal with a message" is something akin to EMPEROR-meets-EARTH CRISIS.
Boasting six members with two lead vocalists and a twin-guitar attack, PURIFIED IN BLOOD had become known for its high-energy live performances. In fact, the group won Norway's national underground music contest for unsigned bands (Zoom) in 2004, and the award for "Best Live Act" at Norway's prestigious Alarmprisen in 2006.
